i dread friday night ballet practice. dread it. the studio is on the other side of town. it is boring. it is not my crowd. it interrupts friday night pizza and movie night. the boys whine about it. it's expensive. having said that, the end of the year recital pays big dividends for me. aw all dressed up. like a princess. megawatt smile on her face. the boys totally focused on her for an evening (minus the hour before her number that her father slept in loge seating). i love her attention to detail. it makes me nuts at home. but in ballet, it serves her well. she has poise and moves effortlessly. she has beautiful straight lines and good rhythm. the only setback was that i forgot, in the craziness of our day, to buy flowers for after the performance. she took one look at the single rose i managed to snag before the show started, and another look at her friend's bouquet, and she was pissed. it was short-lived, thankfully. and we got to see the beautiful, charming aw, elusive as she is.

Oh, Ainsley, you look beautiful!! I am sooooo sad that I missed your recital - I will try even harder to be there next year. I can see that you are even better than before - and you were fantastic last year!!! I love your recital dress! Mom must have taken pictures with her new camera!! You have great brothers to sit and watch girls perform their dances!! Way to go boys. Can't wait to see all of you soon.
em loved ains's outfit. ballet outfits are so delicate looking. we can't wait to see everyone and applaude the boys for sitting through the recital. em's is in a couple of weeks and her number is #2 and there have been threats made about leaving as soon as hers is over.
