roody's big day.

roody had some very specific birthday instructions for me when he woke up on halloween morning. he wanted to... shower and spike his hair, open one gift before we took the kids to school, eat breakfast INSIDE mickey d's, catch the morning showing of puss and boots, be dropped off at the entrance to our neighborhood so he could run home (each and every time), walk to the school to pick up the kids, eat dinner at red robin (where the waitress was not allowed to sing to him), get dressed in his shark costume (minus the headpiece), trick or treat, open presents, eats oreo milkshakes, listen to a good "dad" story, and snuggle with dad. done and done.

hard to believe this guy is five. what a party he is. always up, always ready to go. he wears his emotions on his sleeve (many good men do) and is always ready with a smooch. he puckers his tiny, little wall lips. he doesn't care where we are or who is around. he loves to be held. he loves to run fast. i don't think he'll ever be overweight. in my head, i see him as a twenty-five year old, running as fast as he can to class, to a date, to the bathroom. he is awesomesauce. he loves fiercely and hates that way too. he is helpful and loud and crazy about his hair. he loves showering and has been known to empty and entire container of shampoo on his head, on purpose. he adores shoes and loves shorts and sweatpants. he runs faster than i do. he sits with me whenever he sees me lounging around. he is nestled quite soundly in the third chamber of my heart. forever to remain.
