gw's turn.

power was knocked out in much of the city after a windstorm monday night. but instead of having a quiet, sweatpant day at home, we trudged across town to the doctor. it took about thirty minutes to drive ten miles. every other stoplight was out. banks were down. groceries stores were closed. costco gas was closed, for heaven's sake. our doctor's office was on a backup generator. the np sent us to the radiology lab down the road. it was closed. so we went across the street to the hospital campus. the outpatient pavilion was closed. we finally found a radiology office that was fully functional. after holding down a screaming gw for twenty minutes -the older three were hiding in a two by three curtained room- the xrays were finished. we took them back to the pediatrician who said his foot was, most likely, not broken. she was concerned that he had significant soft tissue damage. he is still limping and favors his right leg. he goes back on monday for another round of xrays to make sure there is not calcification around the bone, which would indicate that it was, as i suspect from previous experiences, broken. we could be three for three. not good.
