those legs, aah

the first encounter goes something like this:

i met a short kid named eric about one week into my sophomore year at byu. actually, he was in my ward. acting on an assumption that i played basketball, he invited me to play on his coed team. i showed up at his apartment wearing shorts that were probably not byu-approved and sat down on the floor in the lr to stretch. i looked up to see this incredible looking guy with abnormally muscular calves walk into the room. i found out later that he had noticed my legs too. during the game eric strained his ankle. being the compassionate person that i am, i took ice cream to eric after the game and found that the guy with the legs was not home. for the next hour i suffered through an excruciating conversation with eric- otherwise known as the most irritating person on earth- and was on my feet about to leave when the door opened and in walked the legs. unfortunately, the legs were covered. in mickey mouse sweatpants. it was all i could do to stay. i mean, what 21 year old guy wears mickey mouse sweats? not the kind i was interested in, i assure you. but. . . he looked so good and so happy to see me sitting on his couch, that i decided to stay. i stayed and stayed and stayed and i probably would have stayed forever, but he had a roommate who was really hardcore on the curfew issue. so i left. but i thought about him and his legs as i walked home, and while i ate a bowl of cereal, and while i talked on the phone to my boyfriend back home in indy, and while i read nietzsche. and that is how i fell asleep; thinking about those legs and the body that was attached to them.
