the pool. ahhh.

friday and saturday were beautiful. perfect, washington summer days. the sun was hot, zero humidity, a slight breeze. we went to the pool and could actually tolerate getting out and getting snacks. earlier last week the water was warmer than the air, so you had to stay submerged to your chin. and getting out for snacks wasn't even an option. mw spent quite a lot of time dragging the kids around, each of them hanging onto a seperate noodle. g was content to cannonball, pencil, dive, and flip forward off the edge. a million times in a row. last week, we swam inside and his eyes were swollen shut on the ride home because he refused to close them underwater.

it's very nice that three of the kids can swim well enough that they don't need life jackets. and i don't have to be within eight feet of them. i just sit on the side and make sure g doesn't smack his head on the edge while trying a quadruple back tuck.
