the best purchase ever - a trampi am a ridiculous excuse for a 27 year old. remember my blog about the stephenie meyer books? yeah, i couldn't stop at just one. i have managed to spend the last three days reading the other two. and i am addicted. i even visited her website. i am so ashamed. back to real life...
mom was good enough to watch the kids so matt and i could go to the ward temple trip on saturday. i couldn't understand why my clothes seemed so big. about an hour in, i realized that the last time i wore them, i was 7 months pregnant with beckett. mystery solved. i was really excited to spend some time hanging out with matt in the car, but he studied for two hours on the way there and slept for two hours on the way home. four hours of fun for matt = four hours of driving for erica. so i listened, and sang, to country music and refused to turn the ac on. there is no way he slept soundly with how hot it was in that car.
ainsley went home with grandma connie to spend the night and had a blast. grandpa john was out of town, so it was just mom and pain. they watered the flowers, decorated the yard for fall with pumpkins ainsley picked out, and apparently stayed up late talking in bed. poor mom - ainsley probably didn't give her two seconds to breath or talk.
it's always nice to have alone time with one of the kids. mom had ains all to herself and we had coop. becks went to bed at 7:30, so coop and i made the most of it. he is such an incredible little person. he has a very soft heart and a sense of humor that is surprisingly on key for someone so young. it is hard to keep a straight face around him, as he is always doing something goofy. and if you ignore him it doesn't work. he just patiently waits for a response. i stubbed my toe the other day and it really hurt. i may have cried a few tears. he laughed. he laughed so hard and so loud that i eventually gave up and laughed with him. a couple of years ago i missed the last stair and fell and cracked the arch of my foot. he stood over me at the bottom of the stairs and laughed. no joke. he can see the humor in anything. okay. maybe not anything. today he got in trouble and i threatened to cut his hair. he nearly came unglued. he's working really hard to grow it out because he wants a mohawk. like that will ever happen. we all saw poor dave's engagement pictures. anyway...
poor becks. his face will not get better. we have now been to the pediatrician twice, the er once, and the dermatologist twice in the last 10 days. the pedo thought he had mersa. the er dr didn't think it was mersa but prescribed the drug to treat it anyway. and we actually don't see the derm until tomorrow. last week when we did see her she put him on an antibiotic cream. at some point something has to work, so we'll just keep trying.
luckily i think only my family reads this, so i don't have to feel too guilty about all the junk i write about.
school is crazy for matt. he got his pre-proposal turned in and hopefully he will be off and running when he gets it back. it is possible that his thesis won't turn out to be a terrible nightmare, but i don't want to get my hopes up just yet. i would love to help but even my vast intellect has bounds.
family, i need more pictures of the baby.
