a-rod and a one-liner.
while mw was in phoenix for a work/golf conference, i took the mariners tickets and the four kids and headed to seattle to ogle my favorite third baseman. the kids were incredible, as were the fries and cotton candy. we stayed through the seventh inning stretch and sang loud enough to really turn off the people sitting behind us. we parked a block from the ballpark, near a club for gentlemen (but not really. no real gentleman would be caught dead there). cw wanted to know what kind of show the "showgirls" put on. a discussion for another day, i decided. i gave the kids the plan for the ride home: told them i'd carry them in if they fell asleep in the car and that we wouldn't be having any snacks or watching any tv once we got home. i said something to the effect of, "we're going straight to bed." bw was walking a few feet behind me, next to cw. they were rowdy and wrestling around. i heard him say, "i'm gonna go home and sleep with my wife." i nearly lost it. he and cw love the movie clue and apparently that line burrowed deep into his spongy brain, and waited for the perfect opportunity to present itself. mission accomplished.
