we escaped to one of our favorite spots for the day: the quinault rain forest, near lake quinault. it's a long, but beautiful drive. and by the time we finished the short hike and checked out the world's largest sitka spruce, the sun was out. a true washington miracle.






the kids grabbed a bite of lunch from the cooler before we headed to our next destination: ocean shores.
