the weekend review.

while gw and i entertained aw and her friend for a sleepover, mw took the boys to the sounders game. if the seats weren't so great and they didn't get to eat dinner before the game in the season ticket buffet room, where there is always all-you-can-drink soda pop, cookies, a full meal, and hot dogs during halftime, they probably wouldn't like it quite so well. with traffic it took them two hours to get to seattle. i was glad i stayed home. they had fun. what kid wouldn't love soda and cookies for dinner (bw)?

mw and cw were at the ballpark early on saturday for team introductions. i stayed home, out of the rain, watching cartoons and eating pancakes. oh yeah, and going to the bakery. we huddled under umbrellas for cw's soccer game. i find myself hoping they have an end-of-the-year tournament. his team is just so much better than the teams they have played thus far. i think he scored five goals. i'll have to ask him. he always keeps track. gw's nap was brief, as cw had a baseball game in the evening. he snuck in a few extra minutes on the couch.

while playing third, cw made a diving catch. it was very awesome. he then popped out to the pitcher, walked to the dugout, and threw his helmet at the seat. talk about competitive. it was a jamboree game, a kickoff to the season, so there was no winner or loser. but we scored more runs. just saying. cw hit a double his second time up and made a few good plays in the field. gw was a total nightmare at the park and i had to lock him in the car. in his carseat, of course. he might have had the poos and plowed through his clothes and his carseat. awesomeness for me.

i hurried home from the game and drove back to the church for the last thirty minutes of the yw general conference. while driving home, on the same road i drive down ten times a day, i was pulled over. fifteen over the speed limit, she said. she thought i might have been a drunk driver with the high speed and tinted windows. thank you, janky camry windows. i think she felt bad for me. it was raining, i was tired, my left arm is in a cast, i still haven't gotten a washington license (something else she could have ticketed me for), mw's registration wasn't signed, i've already had two speeding tickets in the last eight months. she told me to be careful. and then i cried a little and thanked her for making my crappy week not as crappy as it could have been. she laughed and told me to go home. after a crazy friday and saturday, we did a lot of this on sunday...
cause guess what? it begins again tomorrow.

Oh wow to getting pulled over to fulfill those church duties. I would have caved and eaten the yummy dessert with all that emotional stress...oh wait I did it without any stress at all. Way to stay strong. Glad you escaped the ticket...yet another annoying Washington thing!
