seven delightful years have passed since matt and i took the plunge. i spent the glorious seventh anniversary of our union at my mom's house with her and the kids. matt was in st. louis at a national ortho conference. the day came and went with little fanfare. matt hung out at clubs until 2 in the morning; i went to bed at 10 and slept with coop and pain. it doesn't get any better than that.
we have spent the better part of the week at the pool. with the heat index it has been in the low hundreds every day. matt and i finally celebrated our anniversary wednesday night; a quick bite at chili's and the 8 o'clock showing of the bourne ultimatum and we were home by 10. super exciting. gosh, it's depressing to see it in writing. matt, of course, got me a gift card at victoria's secret. out of sheer meanness i will use it to buy conservative pjs. i once again have proven myself to be the superior gift-giver. i found 2 tickets to the sold out browns/seahawks game in november. and i got a victoria's secret gift card. i swear. if i didn't want to go to the game to see brady quinn i would have gotten two tickets to michael bolton concert at the indiana state fair. speaking of the state fair... what a fantastic time of year it is. deep fried reese cups, grilled corn on the cob, potato rolls, the list goes on and on and on. there is also the world's largest pig, which also has the world's largest, well, you know. coop is so confused by it all. poor kid. he'll probably need therapy later in life because of the grotesque "things" on display at the fair.
beckett just keeps getting cuter. i promise you, he is the cutest yet. no lie. and ainsley is the bossiest kid ever. she's been so rotten lately i've been telling her that if she doesn't straighten up i'm not going to let her go to preschool. but the truth of the matter is that i would never do that to myself. she is truly bipolar; yelling at the top of her lungs that she's hungry one moment and wrapping her arms around my neck the next . i don't have a clue what to do with her. and cooper. what can i say? he is my buddy; very in tune with what everyone is feeling and wearing. very emotional, still crazy for baseball and beckett. i think i'll keep him.
we miss our friends and our family and we hope they are reading this and thinking of us and missing us too. winters and roberts especially- we miss you!
