we were due.
i NEVER let the kids play at the park during cw's soccer practices. EVER. it's only 100 yards away. but still. so what was i thinking? i was thinking that gw was otherwise occupied. so i wouldn't have to hold him, kicking and screaming, while aw and bw played. so i said sure. go ahead. stay with each other and blake (their buddy). i could see them from where i was standing. not good enough. i glanced over to see another mom carrying bw to me and aw yelling at the top of her lungs. apparently, he jumped from the top platform at the park. we iced the ankle. we tried to wait it out. but he kept wailing. mw and his parents had just left the field to grab pizza. i secured a ride home for cw, grabbed aw and bw, and took off to meet mw. by that point, the swelling was spreading up his leg. i took him to the er, where they fast-tracked him (thank heavens! i'm so glad i didn't have to give my "we have real insurance and will pay our copays rant.) and he was diagnosed with a second degree sprain and ligament damage. the next day he was fitted for a walking boot, though he still cannot put any pressure on it.did i mention that the morning after his accident, i rear-ended a lady in the school dropoff line? it was literally the second time this school year that i have dropped them off and not walked them to their respective doors. this is my punishment for casting aside my glorious and safe, though slightly paranoid, routine. ironically, i bumped a brand new car. she hadn't even made the first payment yet. on the up side, and i spent most of yesterday looking for one, my insurance has no deductible when i am at fault.

so sorry to hear that about bw! your family and their injuries parallel no one else I know. :) love to all and can't wait to see everyone in less than 3 months.
The walking cast is bigger than him. Poor kid!!!
Look what happens when I get the flu for a week. I didnt know any of this was going on. We need a date so you can fill me in. Glad BW's okay.
