soccer came and went. coop's team went five and two. i think. this record is based solely on coop's score keeping. but let's face it. those of us that know him. he's a mathman. kind of creepy- dustin-hoffman-kind-of-mathman. i spent coop's first two or three years of life praying that he would love sports. okay. not just love them. excel supremely at them. and thus far, he has not disappointed. our laid back coop is ferocious on the field. and though he would not lay a hand on a girl off the field, he thinks nothing of flattening the little girls on the other side of the ball. during his last game a girl on the opposing team left him holding the piano and scored on an open net. it was a very humbling experience for him. matt has taken to shouting "drop the piano." i have tried to explain to him that really long legs on a young body take a while to get used to. he looks a little bit like an inflexible, two-legged spider. i've been there. it was not pretty. matt, of course, has no idea where we are coming from. his inseam is deplorable. not much help in the way of producing superior athletic specimens.

luckily grady is a trooper and perfectly willing to stay bundled up in his stroller during coop's soccer games. of the seven saturdays that he played, it rained six.
