we got some negative feedback, from my mother of course, about the pic of ains in the box. do not be concerned. they know not to put each other in boxes and close the lids.

we had the kids halloween pictures taken today, nightmare, and the ones of becks are unreal. i mean, there is no way he should be this cute. the tom arma brown bear costume was made for him, i swear it. while we were at the mall we walked by libby lu. usually we don't even look inside -all the pink kind of makes me gag- but today was different. matt and i have told ains that she can get her ears pierced but she always says "no thank you" when we tell her it will hurt a little bit. she must have been feeling brave today because she said "yes" even after i told her it would hurt, a lot. she didn't want to sit on my lap, so she just hopped up in the gross pink chair and sat totally still while they pierced her ears, one at a time. she started crying when they had her look in the mirror. meanwhile, coop walked over to us covered in glitter, which they have sitting in tubs with no lids, and asked if he could get one ear pierced. apparently, he wants to wear a hoop like a pirate. "um, no. but you can get some jelly beans, coop." "okay, that sounds good too, mom." so ains got her ears pierced. and then we stopped at build a bear to get the baby carrier for her monkey. dumb, i know. but she didn't cry when they pierced her ears. she deserved it. she earned it. before she went to bed i told her that we needed to put medicine on her ears and turn her earrings. she sat really still and then told me she could turn them herself. she is one tough little kid.

as a side note, coop has mastered the razor scooter. cooper, who trips on the lines painted on the gym floor, has defeated the scooter. even i can't do it. those things are so stupid. but he loves it. i'm probably just jealous.
