i am a bad blogger. actually, i am not. matt's computer is a piece of poo and now the cord doesn't work so my time spent online is severely limited. the problem is that the price of a new computer is $1200, which we would have been able to manage if matt had not called friday from the donut shop down the road. yeah! or so i thought. the transmission on the mazda finally quit on him. it was really only a matter of time. and so we are currently in the market for a new car. my point is this; i would update this blessed site more often if i could.
saturday was a great day. i woke at 10am to the smell of blueberry muffins, very yummy. but when i went into becks room to wake him up he did not look like himself. his eyes were almost swollen shut and the red, splotchy, scaly rash had taken over his adorable face. he was obviously having a reaction to one of the medications prescribed to clear up the red rash. oh, the irony of it all. i called the dermatologist, who called back in record time, and explained becks rash to her. apparently he was having a reaction to the sulfa antibiotic the derm put him on to clear up the full body breakout he sported last week. luckily, at our weekly visit to the derm they also put him on prednisone. so he didn't react as badly to the antibiotic as he could have. on the dr's orders we stopped the sulfa drug and pumped him full of prednisone. by the afternoon he looked significantly better. and by better i mean that he no longer looked like he had just survived 26 rounds with iron mike. in the midst of all of this i had an epiphany; i think that we are battling this horrifying skin problem because HF knows i would be incredibly vain about how cute he is. the point has been made. consider me humbled. now let's get rid of it. the most frustrating part of this whole debacle is that he is not responding well to any treatment. three of the best derms in indy can't figure out what is going on. they just keep apologizing, which is ridiculous because if they knew what to do they would do it.
it was still a great day. the reason it was a great day was because coop scored his first touchdown. he broke through the line, headed to the sideline, and then ran parallel to it all the way to the pylon. after breaking the plane he was tackled, which didn't faze him one bit. i think he was distracted by matt's victory dance in the endzone.
and then we had the trunk or treat at church. after all the confusion and the crying and whining, from matt, the kids' costumes turned out great. coop looked awesome in the red power ranger suit and ains looked more like tink than tink does. becks. what can i say? by far the cutest kid in the best costume. unfortunately, he was a little lethargic from the drugs so he was a rather timid brown bear. matt made the mistake of calling him a canadian grizzly in front of some canucks and they informed him that becks was a canadian brown bear, not a grizzly. it's a good thing we like them. another friend dressed as santa claus and the kids were all over him. they all wanted to tell him what they wanted for christmas. one lady had him tell her three year old daughter that he would bring lots of presents if she pooped in the potty. all in all, a great night.

i would like to publicly thank matt for being such a good sport about all of this. contrary to what you may have gleaned from my ramblings, i do like him quite a bit. a bit.
