christmas eve day at the hawks game.

a couple of months ago, mw mentioned going to the seahawks game on christmas eve. i told him that i loved the idea, but only if all six of us could go. so saturday morning we left for seattle and century link field. we parked close, had great seats (no benches), and even better weather. it was fifty five, overcast, and still. it was an added bonus that they were playing the 49ers. it was even more fantastic that the kids were great. they ate fries and nachos and pizza and pretzels from the park. we also packed our own stash of m&ms and mike&ikes and red vines. aw and bw sipped hot cocoa when the wind picked up and everyone cheered like crazy when the hawks scored (except cw, who cheered for the 49ers). lynch played great and so did gore. not surprisingly, our qb was terrible. he failed to make it into the endzone on a play that had everyone standing around with befuddled looks on their faces. and he fumbled the ball on the last play of the game for the hawks. notwithstanding the horrible play of jackson, the day was a total success. the kids loved it. aw asked questions and stood on her seat and cheered and even high-fived the people behind us after a long pass play. after the game, the lady seated behind us congratulated us repeatedly. she was "incredibly impressed" that we had a) ventured out to the game with so many kids on christmas eve, and b) that they were so obviously raised to behave appropriately in public (for which she gave us total credit). crazy, i tell you. they were that good.
