keepin' busy.

we have been keeping ourselves busy. we finally broke out the pool, against mw's wishes, and filled it with freezing, cold water. gw's banged up head hasn't slowed him down one bit. he's going harder and faster than ever. mw removed the stitches on wednesday and his scar looks pretty good. cw finally wore full pads to football on wednesday. it cooled down considerably last night, so he took the added weight in stride. he's an emotional kid and we are already seeing his passionate nature bubble to the surface at practice. i love watching mw out on the field with the boys. i missed the football-crazed part of his life and wish sometimes that i could have seen him play. this is about as good as it's gonna get. and it's pretty good. all of the coaches are young guys who played and love the game. his head coach played at uw, so he's got the experience and enough passion for the entire team. he has no volume control, but the boys don't seem to mind. he tossed the ball to mw the other day and told him to give him a snap. i almost died watching him get his hands under mw and call for the ball. mw laughed quite a bit too. i took the kids to the farmers market today, and though i'm not really one for organic produce, it was pretty neat to witness. the fresh peaches were heavenly and the only other place that has snow cones like that is in hawaii. we're staying busy and loving the sunshine. i am dreading the start of school. i would never in a hundred million years homeschool. but i am sometimes tempted by the thought of non-stop hangout time fun with the kids. they would learn nothing and i would be turned into child protective services. but it would be lots of fun.
